by The Director General of the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA), Dr. Bahati Bernard, has announced that within a period not exceeding a week and a half, they will release the results of students who completed secondary school in the 2025/26 academic year. The national secondary school examinations were conducted on July 15, 2026. Figures show that 108,722 students sat for the exams in the second cycle of secondary school (upper secondary).
Speaking in an interview on RBA on August 28, 2026, Dr. Bahati said the results for students who completed the sixth year of secondary school would be released soon.
He said: “The processing of results for students who completed secondary school has advanced to the point where we can say that within a very short time—perhaps within a week or a week and a half we may be able to announce the results.”
In Rwanda, once results are released, students who qualify for university admission proceed directly to their studies without having to wait a full year.
Last year, students who sat the final secondary school exams passed at a rate of 89.1%, with male students passing at a rate of 93.5% and female students at 85.5%.
