Appeal Window Now Open
The placement appeal process for the 2026 academic year is officially open, giving students and guardians the opportunity to request a transfer to a different school or a different combination, based on available seats.

| Status | Open now |
| Purpose | Request a transfer to a different school or combination, subject to seat availability |
| Opens | 21 August 2026 |
| Closes | 28 August 2026 |
What This Means for Students and Parents
Guardians who wish to request a change of school or combination for their child should act within this one-week window. As with previous placement appeal cycles, requests are only fulfilled where seats are actually available priority is generally given once space opens up from students who did not report to their originally assigned school.
Submitting a placement appeal is a significant decision: once an appeal is accepted, the student’s original slot is given up and cannot be reclaimed if the requested school or combination has no space. Guardians should confirm eligibility and weigh the decision carefully before the 28 August 2026 deadline.
How to Apply
Appeals are typically submitted by the parent or guardian through the SDMS (Student Data Management System) platform, or in person at the NESA officer’s desk at the relevant District office.
