If you’re a headteacher, school administrator, or education official searching for how to check, view, or download your school’s S3 National Examination results (Ordinary Level) for the 2025/2026 academic year, this guide takes you through the process on Rwanda’s official School Data Management System (SDMS) at rne.sdms.gov.rw.

S3 marks the end of the Ordinary Level cycle in Rwanda’s education system, and results from this national examination determine student placement into Advanced Level combinations, TVET, or Professional Education tracks. Getting accurate, verified results quickly is essential for schools preparing report slips and guiding students through the next stage of their education.
SDMS (School Data Management System) is the official platform run by the Ministry of Education (MINEDUC) and the National Examination and School Inspection Authority (NESA) for managing school and examination data in Rwanda. For S3 (Ordinary Level) National Examinations, SDMS is where schools retrieve verified candidate marks, pass/fail statistics, averages, and downloadable results slips directly from NESA — rather than relying on unofficial or third-party sources.
Step 1: Log In and Set the Academic Year
Go to rne.sdms.gov.rw and log in using your headteacher account. Once inside, open Change User Preferences and set:
- Fiscal Year — e.g., 2025/2026
- Academic Year — the specific examination session you want to view (e.g., 2024/2025 or 2025/2026)
Setting the correct academic year first ensures the S3 results you retrieve match the right examination session.
Step 2: Open Exam Marks and Select “Ordinary Level”
From the menu, click NAT. EXAMS → Exam Marks, then choose the examination level from the dropdown:
- Primary
- Advanced Level
- Professional Education
- TVET
- Ordinary Level (this is where S3 National Examination results are found)
Select Ordinary Level to proceed to your school’s S3 results.
Step 3: Let Your School’s S3 Results Load
Unlike Advanced Level results — which require choosing a subject combination (such as MCE, MPC, or PCB) before results appear — S3 (Ordinary Level) results load directly once the examination and level are selected, since O-Level candidates sit a common set of subjects rather than combinations. SDMS will automatically display the National Examination results for your school.
Step 4: Review the Summary and Download the Results Slip
Once loaded, SDMS shows a full performance summary for your school, including:
- Total candidates
- Average score
- Highest and lowest marks
- Pass and fail counts and percentages
Below this, the Candidate Results table lists each student’s candidate code, name, mention, and weighted percentage, with a Detail view for individual breakdowns.
To save the S3 results slip, click:
